The Hannibal Arts Council is pleased to announce the official poster image for the 50th Annual Hannibal Folklife Festival. The 2026 commemorative poster was designed by local artist Sarah A. McUmber-House, who first created a festival poster in 1984, the earliest festival poster documented and included in the organization’s archives. Throughout the festival’s history, McUmber-House has designed an impressive 16 festival posters, including those for 1984, 1989-2001, 2006, and now the milestone 2026 celebration.
To commemorate the festival’s milestone, the Hannibal Arts Council is offering limited-edition posters/prints in various sizes and designs. 50 signed and numbered 11″ x 17″ posters are available for $20 each. 50 signed and numbered 16″ x 20″ commemorative prints featuring the poster surrounded by a border showcasing every available festival poster design since the first on record are available for $40 each. 25 signed and numbered 18″ x 24″ commemorative prints expand on that design and include added text listing the local artists who have contributed to or been featured in Hannibal Folklife Festival poster designs through the years.
Because of their limited availability, early purchases are encouraged. Posters and prints are available for purchase at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main St. Office hours are Noon-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Proceeds from every sale directly support the Hannibal Arts Council and help ensure the continued success of the Hannibal Folklife Festival.
The 50th Annual Hannibal Folklife Festival will be held October 17-18 in Downtown Hannibal. Each year, North Main Street in the Downtown Historic District comes alive with artisan vendors from across the Midwest, local organizations serving favorite festival foods, drink booths, live entertainment, demonstrations and activities for children. Over the past five decades, the festival has become one of Hannibal’s signature events, celebrating the creativity, traditions and community spirit that make Hannibal special.
