Artists to Gather in Hannibal and Canton for River Bluffs Paint Out, May 3–4
Artists from across the region will gather in Hannibal and Canton for the River Bluffs Paint Out, a two-day plein air painting event taking place May 3–4. The event invites artists to capture the character and charm of these river communities by creating original artworks outdoors and on location.
The public is encouraged to attend Fresh Art receptions each evening, where they can view and purchase artworks completed earlier that day. Each participating artist may submit up to two original pieces daily, most of which will be available for sale.
• The May 3 reception will take place from 5:00–6:30 p.m. at Gather, 507 Clark St., Canton.
• The May 4 reception will be held from 5:00–6:30 p.m. at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St., Hannibal.
Each evening reception will showcase a different collection of works, reflecting the unique scenes captured by artists that day. Daily awards will be presented, including Best of Show, Second Place, Third Place, and Honorable Mentions.
Local and regional artists are still welcome to participate. Artist Guidelines and Registration information can be found on the Gallery page at hannibalarts.com.
The River Bluffs Paint Out is presented in partnership by the Hannibal Arts Council and the Canton Area Arts Council, with support from the Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau, Canton Main Street Association, Canton Tourism Commission, Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies, and the Missouri Arts Council.
