The Hannibal Arts Council invites the public to explore the creative process of papermaking with fiber artist Shannon Brock during a hands-on workshop on Saturday, May 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hannibal Arts Council, located at 105 S. Main Street.
In this engaging three-hour session, participants will learn the fundamentals of papermaking and craft their own unique paper vessel under the guidance of an experienced fiber artist. All materials and supplies provided. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a fun and enriching opportunity to dive into the world of handmade paper.
Instructor Shannon Brock is an artist and hand papermaker who specializes in creating imagery in handmade paper. Utilizing a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques she creates one-of-a-kind paper from plant fibers. Shannon relocated her studio from Brooklyn, NY to Montgomery City, MO where she runs Gaptoothed Studio which offers artist-in-residencies, workshops, and one-on-one collaboration opportunities.
The cost for the workshop is $35 for the general public and $30 for HAC members. Space is limited, and early registration is recommended.
