An impressive 138 original works of art by 76 artists living within a 50-mile radius of Hannibal will fill the galleries of the Hannibal Arts Council for the Hannibal Art Club’s 62nd Annual Area Artist Exhibit and Competition, ORiGINALE.
The exhibit opens with a public reception from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, with the awards presentation beginning at 7:00 p.m. The opening offers the community an opportunity to meet participating artists, view the wide variety of work on display and celebrate the creativity and talent found throughout the region.
More than $3,500 in awards will be presented during the competition. Achievement, Excellence, Merit and Honorable Mention awards will be given, along with a Best of Show Award in each of the competition’s two divisions: Professional and Non-Professional.
ORiGINALE showcases the depth and diversity of the area’s visual arts community, bringing together both established and emerging artists and providing an opportunity for the public to experience a broad range of original artwork in one exhibit.
The exhibit will be hosted at the Hannibal Arts Council through September 26. Gallery hours are Noon-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed Sundays.
